Захист території Ольвії та Херсонеса в V–І ст. до н.е.

Abstract

Простежено схожість і різницю методів боротьби греків зі скіфами й іншими племенами, що зазіхали на території античних Ольвії та Херсонеса, двох сусідніх грецьких колоній у Північному Причорномор’ї. Виявлено причину невдачі облоги Ольвії македонським полководцем Зопіріоном. З’ясовано, чому Херсонес, на відміну від Ольвії, не зміг відкупитися грішми й дарунками від загрози нападу скіфів, які жили на Таврійському півострові.In this work author traced the similarity and difference of struggle methods between Greeks with Scythians and other tribes, which encroached the areas of antique Olbia and Chersonesus (two neighbouring Greek colonies on the Northern Black Sea Coast). The reason of unsuccessful Olbia siege by Macedonian commander Zopyrion is revealed. In addition, in the article covered the cause why Chersonesus, unlike Olbia, could not buy off from threat of attack of Scythians that lived at the Tauride peninsula.
