Abstract

У вступній статті М.Максимовича до етнографічної збірки 1827 р. висвітлюється роль української пісенної традиції в розкритті народного/національного духу, зокрема для розуміння минувшини. У світлі уявлень раннього романтизму розглянуто духовне, культурне та мистецько-естетичне призначення народного слова. Обстоюється теза, що пісні й думи репрезентують найрізноманітніші історичні та культурні вияви народного буття.In the introductory article by M. Maksymovych to the ethnographic collection of 1827 highlighted the role of the Ukrainian song tradition in revealing the folk/national spirit, in particular for understanding the past. In the light of the concepts of early romanticism, the article examines the spiritual, cultural and artistic-aesthetic purpose of the popular word. Author defended the thesis that songs and dumas represent the most varied historical and cultural displays of national life.
