Київська губернська адміністрація та український національний рух (на прикладі історії Південно-Західного відділу Російського географічного товариства)

Abstract

У статті аналізується діяльність київської губернської адміністрації та ставлення окремих її представників до українського національного руху середини 1870-х років на прикладі історії Південно-Західного відділу Російського географічного товариства. Автор розкрив взаємини між губернською адміністрацією краю та київськими українофілами у другій половині ХІХ ст. Досліджено основні причини запровадження ряду змін у діяльності місцевої адміністрації (збільшення чиновницького апарату, запровадження нових посад та інституцій) другої половини ХІХ ст. Разом з тим, автором визначено те, що київська губернська адміністрація в середині 1870-х років зазнає значних структурних змін, які в умовах активізації наукової, громадської, культурно-освітньої діяльності представників українського національного руху першої половини 1870-х років, мали посприяти повноцінному виконанню нею своїх адміністративно-контролюючих та організаційно-розпорядчих функцій.The article analyzes the activities of the Kyiv Provincial Administration and the attitude of its individual representatives to the Ukrainian national movement of the mid-1870s on the example of the history of the Southwestern Department of the Russian Geographical Society. The author revealed the relationship between the provincial administration of the region and the Kiev «ukrainianophiles» in the second half of the nineteenth century. The main reasons for introducing a number of changes in the activities of the local administration (increase of the bureaucracy, introduction of new positions and institutions) of the second half of the nineteenth century were investigated. At the same time, the author determined that the Kyiv provincial administration in the mid-1870's undergoes significant structural changes that, in the conditions of intensification of the scientific, public, cultural and educational activities of the representatives of the Ukrainian national movement of the first half of the 1870's, should have contributed full-fledged performance of its administrative- controlling and organizational and administrative functions.
