Непростий шлях Б. Хмельницького до Софіївської площі (історія спорудження пам’ятника Б. Хмельницькому у Києві в мемуарно-епістолярній спадщині)

Abstract

У статті досліджується передісторія спорудження та відкриття пам’ятника гетьману України Богданові Хмельницькому в Києві, описуються події 11–15 липня 1888 р., пов’язані зі святкуванням 900-річчя хрещення Русі. Досліджується діяльність комітету зі спорудження пам’ятника Б. Хмельницькому на чолі з М. Юзефовичем. Звернуто увагу на архітектурну діяльність Михайла Микешина – автора пам’ятника Б. Хмельницькому, та умови, в яких довелося працювати митцю. У статті використовуються різноманітні епістолярно-мемуарні джерела (спогади Гліба Лазаревського, Миколи Стороженка, Сергія Вітте, листи Костянтина Побєдоносцева та ін.).In the article history of building and opening of monument is probed to the hetman of Ukraine to Bohdan Khmelnytskyi on the Sofia square in Kyiv. Idea about the necessity of creation of monument of hetman of Ukraine Bohdan Khmelnytskyi in the middle of ХIХ century is belonged to the prominent figures and scientists offered Vasyl Freihanh, Mykola Kostomarov, Mykhailo Maksymovych and other. Large work in this direction was conducted by Mykhailo Yuzefovych. In 1870 the special committee was created on building of monument of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi at the head with Mykhailo Yuzefovych (1802– 1889) – the professor, the head of Archeographic Commission in Kyiv. Basic directions activity of the special committee are described in the article. Told about architectural activity of the artist and sculptor Mykhailo Mykeshyn (1835–1896). Mykhailo Mykeshyn is an author of project of monument of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi. The terms of work of Mykhailo Mykeshyn are described on making of sculpture in the workshops of Saint Petersburg. Told about work of the Kyivan architect Volodymyr Nikolaev (1847–1911) on creation of a stone pedestal for a monument to Bohdan Khmelnytskyi In the article told about celebration of 900 year of christening of Rus in Kyiv of July, 11–15, 1888, during what which a monument was opened to hetman of Ukraine Bohdan Khmelnytskyi. Various epistolary-memoir sources are mentioned in the article (memoirs and diaries of Hlib Lazarevskyi, Mykola Storozhenko, Serhii Vitte, Oleksandr Kistiakivskii, and also letters of the Ober – Procurator of the Most Holy Synod Kostiantyn Pobedonostsev and other).
