Одяг студентів Університету св. Володимира (1834–1863)

Abstract

У статті висвітлено особливості одягу студентів Університету св. Володимира упродовж 1834–1863 рр. Розглянуто специфіку студентської форми. Визначено роль та значення форменого одягу в житті студентства Університету св. Володимира. Вказано деталі щодо забезпечення вихованців університету вбранням та специфіки догляду за ним. Також висвітлено особливості буденного одягу студентів, який відображав, з одного боку, загальні тенденції моди, з іншого — слугував вираженням студентської політичної чи світоглядної позиції. Результати дослідження засвідчують, що вбрання відігравало важливу роль у житті студентів. Зокрема, форма, яка виконувала не лише практичні функції, а й сприяла згуртуванню студентської корпорації та була ознакою престижу. Буденний одяг також отримав важливе смислове навантаження для студентів, слугуючи виявом національної, соціальної та корпоративної ідентичностей.The article depicts the place of clothes in the life of St. Vladimir University students in 1834–1863. First, the specifics of the student's uniform were considered in the article. The role and significance of uniform in the life of students of the University of St. Vladimir are defined. Details are provided on the provision of clothing for students and the features of care for it. Also, the peculiarities of everyday clothes of students were considered, which reflected, on the one hand, general fashion trends, on the other hand, it served as an expression of a student's political or ideological position. The results of the research show that clothes played important role in life of students. In particular, uniform which hadn’t only utilitarian functions but helped unite student’s corporation and also uniform was a sign of prestige. Everyday closes also had special semantic meaning for students and expressed their national, social or corporative identities.
