Діяльність священника о. Володимира Хиляка на Дрогобиччині (1892–1893): душпастирство, літературна творчість, вшанування пам’яті

Abstract

Мета статті – представити результати дослідження останнього періоду життя відомого українського письменника о. Володимира Хиляка (1843–1893), з’ясувати деталі його душпастирської, письменницької діяльності, розкрити особливості комеморативних практик щодо вшанування пам’яті митця. Методологія дослідження ґрунтується на принципах історизму та детермінізму, з використанням загальнонаукових методів аналізу, синтезу, аналогії, абстрагування й узагальнення, а також біографічного та проблемно-хронологічного підходів. Наукова новизна зумовлена тим, що останній період життя о. В. Хиляка, який він провів на Дрогобиччині, досі не був об’єктом наукових зацікавлень дослідників. Висновки. Священник о. В. Хиляк в останні місяці свого життя зайняв парафію в с. Літиня на Дрогобиччині (1892–1893). Через поганий стан здоров’я та значний обсяг душпастирських обов’язків він майже не займався письменницькою працею, опублікувавши лише одне оповідання. Священику довелося впорядковувати занедбане діловодство парафіяльного уряду. Смерть о. В. Хиляка послужила приводом представникам русофільства закцентувати свої культурні та політичні орієнтири, й, водночас, перетворити постать священика на один із символів власного руху.The purpose of the article is to present the results of research into the last period of the life of the famous Ukrainian writer Fr. Volodymyr Hylyak (1843-1893), to find out the details of his pas¬toral and writing activities, to reveal the peculiarities of commemorative practices in honoring the memory of the artist. The research methodology is based on the principles of historicism and determinism, using general scientific methods of analysis, synthesis, analogy, abstraction and generalization, as well as biographical and problem-chronological approaches. The scientific novelty is due to the fact that the last period of the life of Fr. V. Hylyak, which he spent in Drohobych County, has not yet been the object of sci-entific interest of researchers. The Conclusions. Priest Fr. In the last months of his life, V Hylyak took up the parish in the village of Litynya in the Drohobych County (1892-1893). Due to poor health and a significant amount of pastoral duties, he was almost not engaged in writing, publishing only one short story. The priest had to organize the neglected paperwork of the parish government. The death of V. Hylyak served as a reason for representatives of the Russophilism to emphasize their cultural and political orientations, and at the same time to turn the figure of the priest into one of the symbols of their own movement.
