Родильна обрядовість на Волині

Abstract

У статті охарактеризовано сучасний стан збереження та функціонування родильної обрядовості населення Волині на основі польових етнографічних матеріалів автора. Основну увагу зосереджено на описі дій, що їх виконували з метою забезпечити благополуччя, здоров'я дитини в майбутньому та захистити її від впливу злих сил. Здійснено спробу реконструювати звичаї, яких дотримувалися під час пологів, та очисні обряди над бабою-повитухою та породіллею.The paper describes the current state of the birth rites preservation and functioning among the population of the area under study on the basis of the author's field ethnographic materials. The main attention is focused on the description of the actions performed to ensure the well-being, health of a child in the future and to protect him/her from the influence of evil forces. An attempt is made to reconstruct the customs that were followed during childbirth, as well as the purification rites for a midwife and a woman in childbirth.
