Максим Рильський і журнал «Народна творчість та етнографія»

Abstract

Історія журналу «Народна творчість та етнологія» (сучасна назва журналу) починається від створення «Етнографічного вісника» (головні редактори – А. Лобода, В. Петров), який видавала Етнографічна комісія ВУАН. Через низку несприятливих для української науки й культури подій журнал зазнавав змін не тільки в назві чи редакторсько-редакційній колегії, але й у структурі журналу та його наповненні. Певний час журнал не публікували взагалі з об’єктивних причин: від 1933 до 1936 років у зв’язку зі звинуваченнями в буржуазному академізмі й націоналістичних виявах, під час Другої світової війни та в повоєнний період (1942–1956). Інститут також зазнав реорганізацій і зміни керівництва. Від березня 1944 року Інститут поновив свою роботу в Києві. Відновлення журналу «Народна творчість та етнографія» під керівництвом М. Рильського мало на меті не тільки інформування читача про наукові здобутки Інституту, але й висвітлення мистецько-культурного життя республіки, популяризацію народного мистецтва, залучення широкого кола дописувачів. Для реалізації поставлених завдань М. Рильський, як головний редактор, суттєво змінив наповнення журналу, ввів нові рубрики, публікував річний зміст, згрупований за рубриками, вів активну промоцію видань Інституту й АН УРСР, що зумовило збільшення тиражу журналу.The history of the Folk Art and Ethnology journal (it’s the current name of the journal) has started with the creation of the Ethnographic Bulletin (A. Loboda, V. Petrov, editors-in-chief), published by the Ethnographic Commission of the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. The journal has changed its name and the editorial board, as well as the structure of the journal and its content, because of a series of unfavourable events for Ukrainian science and culture. The journal has not been published at all for some time for objective reasons – from 1933 to 1936 in connection with the accusations of bourgeois academicism and nationalist manifestations, during the Second World War, and the post‑war period (1942–1956). The Institute has also undergone reorganizations and changes of managers. The work of the Institute has been resumed in Kyiv since March 1944. The resumption of the Folk Art and Ethnography journal under the leadership of M. Rylskyi has aimed not only at informing the reader about the scientific achievements of the Institute, but also the describing the artistic and cultural life of the republic, popularization folk art, and attracting a wide range of contributors. M. Rylskyi, as the editor-in-chief, has significantly changed the content of the journal by introducing new sections, publishing the annual content grouped by sections, actively publishing the editions of the Institute and the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, etc., to implement the main goals. All those have caused an increase in the circulation of the journal.
