Abstract

Проаналізовані згадки про Любеч в IX–XII ст. у літописах. Зроблено висновок про стратегічне значення міста в Х–ХІІ ст. Любеч займав третю позицію в рейтингу чернігово-сіверських міст після Чернігова та Новгорода-Сіверського в ХІІ ст.The article analyses mentions of Liubech in chronicles in the period from the 9th to the 13th centuries. The conclusion is made that Liubech had an important strategic value in the 9th to 12th centuries. In the 12th century Liubech was third most important town in the region, following Chernihiv and Novhorod-Siverskyi.
