In Memoriam: Gennagiy Matsuka (1930–2017)

Abstract

On June 27, 2017, Gennadiy Kharlampiyovych Matsuka, an outstanding scientist and a wonderful person, Honorary Director of IMBG NAS of Ukraine, full member of NAS of Ukraine, Professor, parted from this life. It is hard to overestimate his scientific and organizational contribution into the development of molecular biology in Ukraine. First of all, G. Kh. Matsuka is one of the founders of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics, NAS of Ukraine, well-known in the world, and a co- founder of the school of Ukrainian molecular biologists in the field of molecular biology of higher organisms.
