Abstract

В этом году исполняется 180 лет с момента начала археологического изучения Херсонеса Таврического, которое с перерывами, вызванными двумя мировыми войнами, продолжается и сегодня. В ходе раскопок на территории городища, некрополя и сельскохозяйственной территории, расположенной на Гераклейском полуострове, открыты и изучены разнообразные памятники, которые позволяют воссоздать историю и культуру этого центра на протяжении античной и средневековой эпох его истории.The 180th anniversary of the beginning of archaeological research of Tauric Chersonesos is coming this year. The excavations on the sites of the settlement, necropolis, and Herakleian peninsula revealed diverse monuments which allow one to reconstruct the city’s history and culture in the Ancient and Mediaeval periods. However, while working on that they forget the names of individual scholars with their difficult, and sometimes tragic, fates, who contributed to the accumulation of the sources, which are used today in studying Chersonesos. This article presenting the review of the organizational, archaeological and scientific activities of Konstantin Eduardovich Grinevich (1891-1970) is commemorating the founder of contemporary Museum of Chersonesos reorganized now into the National Preserve of Tauric Chersonesos.
