Материалы к распространению и экологии сирийского дятла (Dendrocopos syriacus) на Украине

Abstract

New data are reported on the further expansion of the Dendrocopos syriacus H e m p r et E h r. area of distribution. The species inhabits at present the whole Right-bank forest-steppe part of the Ukraine and the southern part of the Chernigov Region in the Left-bank area. Nesting of this species in Nezhin of the Chernigov Region, certain peculiarities of birds behaviour in a mating period as well as new data on nutrition of nestlings and adult birds are described.
