Паразитофауна нототениевидных рыб (Notothenioidei) из вод Атлантического и Индийского океанов

Abstract

1189 fishes of 13 species from the Nototheniidae and Chaenichthyde families were studied in subantarctic waters of the Kergelenian subregion (Indian Ocean) and in waters of the Falkland Islands and South Georgia (Atlantic Ocean). 3 species of parasitic worms, 3 species of parasitic crawfish and 2 species of leeches were found. A considerable difference is observed in the parasitofauna composition of Notothenieidei from the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Peculiarities of the parasitotauna from various regions in question and its poor composition areexplained by low temperatures of water masses,. narrow nutrition spectrum of Notothenieidei, their endemicity.
