Глухів і сусідні міста у творі Станіслава Смоневського

Abstract

У статті розглянуто неопублікований твір польського історика Станіслава Смоневського (1793–1867), присвячений опису Київського, Брацлавського і Чернігівського воєводств. Особливу увагу приділено тій його частині, де йдеться про міста майбутньої Сумської області: Глухів, Конотоп, Путивль та ін. Розкрито характерні особливості світогляду Смоневського, який поділяв погляди польсько-шляхетської історіографії в українському питанні, показано компілятивний характер його праці. Водночас до неї включено окремі архівні документи; в одній з небагатьох у польській історіографії висвітлюється історія Сіверської України. В додатках наводяться уривки з описом вищезгаданих міст.The article examines the unpublished work of the Polish historian Stanislaw Smonevsky (1793-1867), devoted to the description of the Kyiv, Bratslav, and Chernihiv voivodeships. Special attention is paid to that part of it, which refers to the cities of the future Sumy region: Hlukhiv, Konotop, Putivl, etc. The characteristic features of the worldview of Smonevsky, who shared the views of Polish-noble historiography on the Ukrainian issue, are revealed, and the compilative nature of his work is shown. At the same time, it includes separate archival documents, one of the few in Polish historiography that covers the history of Siverska Ukraine. The appendices contain excerpts describing the above-mentioned cities.
