“Прощання з віденством”: кінець Дунайської монархії і проголошення ЗУНР

Abstract

Простежено міжнаціональні відносини в Галичині в період розпаду імперії Габсбургів, визначено причини лояльного ставлення населення регіону до Австро- Угорської імперії. Доведено, що перед Першою світовою війною галицькі поляки й українці прагнули використати воєнну ситуацію для досягнення своїх національних інтересів.The article analyzes the interethnic relations in Western Ukraine during the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The reasons for the loyalty of the inhabitants of this region towards the Austro-Hungarian Empire are scrutinized. It is asserted that before the First World War both Poles and Ukrainians in Galicia wanted to use the wartime situation to pursue their national interests.
