Шляхи формування та поширення символіки заліза в традиційній культурі східнослов’янських народів у світлі лінгвістичних і археологічних даних

Abstract

У статті узагальнюються досягнення лінгвістики у питанні історії походження слов’янських назв заліза та сталі, а також ураховуються досягнення археології у питаннях походження індоєвропейців, розвитку металургії. Розглядається можливість їх використання для встановлення шляхів формування міфо-ритуальних аспектів символіки заліза у традиційній культурі східнослов’янських народів від моменту запозичення (ІІІ тис. до н. е.) і до часу масового розповсюдження німецьких металургійних термінів, інструментів і технологій (ХVІ–ХVІІІ ст.). Крім того, визначаються первинні символічні значення заліза, як сакрального металу, що має небесне походження.The linguistic achievements in the issues of history of the origin of Slavic denominations of iron and steel are extended in the article. The attainments of archaeology in the issues of Indo-Europeans origin and metallurgy development are also taken into account. The possibilities of their use to establish the ways of formation of the myth-ritual aspects of iron symbolism in the traditional culture of Eastern Slavic people from the time of borrowing (the third millenary BC) and up to the period of mass dissemination of German metallurgic terms, tools, and technologies (16–18 centuries) are considered. Besides, the primary symbolic meaning of the iron as a sacred metal of celestial origin is determined.
