Коллекция расписных ваз из раскопок Р.Х. Лепера в собрании Национального заповедника «Херсонес Таврический»

Abstract

Роберт Христианович Лепер (1864-1918) внес значительный вклад в исследование Херсонеса. Он заведовал «Складом местных древностей» Херсонеса Таврического с марта 1908 по 1914 год. Для этой работы он оставил службу в качестве ученого секретаря Русского Археологического Института в Константинополе. Р.Х. Лепер получил основательную подготовку на историко-филологическом факультете Петербургского университета, занимался топографией древних Афин и Константинополя, обладал выдающимися способностями эпиграфиста. Помимо раскопок Херсонеса, он большое внимание уделял собственно музею, начал строительство новых помещений. Ему удалось найти несколько новых надписей, продолжить раскопки в разных районах городища. Р.Х. Лепер, кроме сообщений об эпиграфических находках на территории городища (Лепер 1912), опубликовал в ИАК всего лишь один краткий отчет о раскопках в 1906-1909 гг. четырехапсидной постройки у западной оборонительной стены, исследования которой были начаты еще К.К. Косцюшко-Валюжиничем, и древнегреческой улицы, примыкавшей к пятиапсидному храму.

R. Chr. Loeper (1864-1918) has made the significant contribution to research of Chersonesos. first of all he excavated east part of a site of ancient settlement, the big attention has been given to the western line of defense, necropolis of Chersonesos. Very important that finds are precisely localized in the territory of the ancient city, owing to that he conducted detailed diaries and inventories of finds. 195 fragments of painted ceramics from Loeper’s excavations were attributed by the authors in this article. The earliest fragments dated from the mid-6th to the first quarter of the 5th century BC. Increase of attic import is fixed from the mid-5th century BC and achieves a maximum on boundary of the 5th to the first half of the 4th century BC. The northeast and central areas of Chersonesos site dominates over quantity of early groups of pottery while in the western part the fragments of the vases of the 4th century BC prevail. Typologically the pottery is monotonous enough, craters and vessels for drink prevail. Products of the various attic workshops are presented, some vessels are painted by well-known vase-painters, but mass production prevails. Most often there are images of Dionysos, maenads, satyrs, woman in gynekeum, athletes.
