Abstract

The paper deals with afunctional analysis of the inclination and development of the spinous processes of vertebrae in certain mammals. These processes are shown to take an active part in providing the necessary pliability and rigidity, mobility and stability to the animal spine. The development and inclination of the spinous processes are close related with an increase in the force load (the intensity of rejection and increase in the body mass, the degree of the spine flexure manifestation).
