До 150-річчя заснування жіночих гімназій в Наддніпрянській Україні

Abstract

Жінки усіх розвинених суспільств пройшли довгий шлях боротьби за можливість отримувати освіту нарівні з чоловіками. Новаторські ідеї прогресивно мислячих людей в Російській імперії, де знаходились у ХІХ ст. землі України, ігнорувались, реформи у галузі освіти гальмувались, ставлення суспільства до жінок залишалось патріархальним, ̶ все це надовго затримало розвиток поневолених народів, у тому числі й українців. Проте вимоги часу зумовили необхідність модернізації держави. У статті висвітлено процес становлення середньої жіночої освіти в Україні у другій половині ХІХ ст., проаналізовано нормативно-правову базу реформ у галузі освіти, які часто відставали від реального життя, простежено відкриття перших жіночих середніх шкіл та реакцію на них громадськості. Головна увага у дослідженні відводиться «Положенню про жіночі гімназії та прогімназії міністерства народної просвіти» 1870 р., що завершило побудову системи початкової та середньої жіночої освіти, а також відкрило жінкам шлях до професійної педагогічної діяльності.

Women of all developed societies have come a long way in fighting for the opportunity to receive an education on an equal level with men. Innovative ideas of progressive-minded people in the Russian Empire, where the lands of Ukraine had been situated in the XIX century, were ignored, reforms in the field of education were slowed down, the attitude of society towards women remained patriarchal - all this delayed for a long time the development of enslaved people, including Ukrainians. However, the demands of the time necessitated the modernization of the state. The article highlights the process of formation of women's secondary education in Ukraine in the second half of the XIX century, analyzes the legal framework of reforms in education, which often lag behind real life, traces the opening of the first women's secondary schools and public response towards it. The study focuses mainly on the "Regulations on Women's Gymnasiums and Progymnasiums of the Ministry of Public Education" of 1870, which completed the construction of the system of primary and secondary women's education, as well as opened the way for women to professional pedagogical activity.
