Abstract

Мета статті – дістати з небуття ім’я людини, яка зробила неабиякий внесок у розвиток просвіти Сіверщини, Чернігова, Кам’янець-Подільського та Війська Чорноморського початку ХІХ ст., а також залишила найцікавіші письмові документи щодо історії просвіти України, які мають краєзнавчу та історико-географічну цінність. Дослідження спирається на мікроісторичний метод – через долю однієї людини простежено панівні погляди, тенденції та події в українському суспільстві ХІХ ст. Новизна дослідження полягає в тому, що детально вивчені за архівними документами життя та творчість І.М. Сбітнєва дозволили зробити деякі відкриття щодо, наприклад, віку Чернігівської обласної універсальної наукової бібліотеки, яка, виявляється, є старішою, ніж вважалося досі; привернути увагу до історії появи відомої «Истории Русов», що також не є однозначною; відновити пам’ять про талановитого художника Івана Васькова, однокашника Тараса Шевченка з Петербурзької академії мистецтв, автора портретів відомих людей ХІХ ст., нині незаслужено забутого, тощо. Висновки: знайдені архівні відомості щодо життя Івана Матвєєвича Сбітнєва, його твори: дорожні нотатки, нариси, особисті листи, що зберігаються у Російській державній публічній історичній бібліотеці та в Національній бібліотеці України ім. В.І. Вернадського в Києві, – усе це допомагає відновити, змалювати досить вичерпну картину життя міста Новгорода-Сіверського початку ХІХ ст.: розташування та оновлення вулиць міста, устрій гімназії, нищівні пожежі, проїзд імператора Александра І через Новгород-Сіверський у 1825 р. тощо. «Записки Ивана Матвѣевича Сбитнева», зокрема, подають детальний аналіз «найтемнішої доби в місцевій історії народної просвіти» на Волині, «Прогулка по Воспорскому проливу» є цінним документом з історії просвіти в Черноморії. Ці та інші твори автора мають не лише художню, але й краєзнавчу, історичну цінність як для описаних місцевостей, так і для України в цілому. Вивчення біографії та творчості цієї людини можна внести до навчальних планів історичних навчальних закладів відповідних регіонів.

The purpose of the article is to obtain from oblivion the name of a person, who made a great contribution to the education development of the Siverschina, Chernihiv, Kamenetz-Podolsky and the Black Sea Cossack Host of the early 19th century and also left the interesting written documents regarding the history of Ukrainian education. These documents have local lore and historical-geographical value. The study relies on the microhistoric method – dominant views, trends and events in Ukrainian society of the 19th century are observed through the fate of one person. The novelty of the study is that studied archival documents of Ivan Sbitnev’s life led to the conclusion that the Chernihiv Regional Universal Scientific Library is older than previously thought. Moreover, these documents helped to restore the memory of the undeservedly forgotten artist Ivan Vaskov, who was Taras Shevchenko’s classmate at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, author of portraits of famous people of the 19th century. Sbitnev’s creativity in particular draw attention to the coming to light of famous «History of the Russ» story, which, it turns out, isn't unambiguous, etc. Conclusions. Archival information about one person's life and his creativity (travel notes, essays, personal letters, which are stored now in the Russian State Public Historical Library and V.I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine in Kiev) have helped to fill out the picture of life of Novgorod-Siversky at the beginning of the 19th century. For example, was obtained the location and renewal of town streets, the structure of the gymnasium, crushing fires, passing through the town of Novgorod-Sіversky in 1825 of the Emperor Alexander I etc. «Ivan Matveevich Sbitnev's notes» gives an exhaustive analysis of the «darkest days in the local history of public education» in Volyn 19th century, «Walking along the Vosporsky Strait» is the valuable document on the history of education in Chernomoria. These and other works of this author have not only artistic, but also local lore and historical value, because describe areas and for the history of Ukraine as a whole. Studying the personality and creativity of this person can be included to the curriculum of historical educational institutions as a local subject of the respective regions.
