| dc.description | The paper provides with a definition, a brief historiography, and some theoretical basis for «Library 2.0». This concept borrows from that of Business 2.0 and Web 2.0 and follows some of the same underlying philosophies. Wikipedia defines this term as a loosely defined model for a modernized form of library service that reflects a transition within the library world in the way that services are delivered to users. The article applies the Library 2.0 Meme Map and a brief review of main points of 10 key principles for Library 2.0. This key principles is about technologies, about innovation, about changes in the relationship of libraries with vendors and with users, and about community building, enabled through the participation that social computing brings. The paper also focuses attention on the debate surrounding Library 2.0. This concept is a source of debate between librarians and information professionals around the world. In the paper it is given the opposite views on the Library 2.0. | en_US |
