Утворення та розвиток Черкаської області. Край у добу творення незалежної України

Abstract

У статті розкриваються економічні та суспільно-політичні передумови та обґрунтування доцільності утворення у 1954 році Черкаської області. Робиться короткий історичний екскурс адміністративно-територіального устрою території, що увійшла до новоутвореної області. Дається її загальна характеристика на той час та аналізуються особливості економічного та соціально-культурного розвитку. Відзначаються як позитивні зрушення, так і породжені командно-адміністративною системою негативні явища. Висвітлюється життя краю в умовах процесу демократизації суспільного життя другої половини 1980-х рр. та на початку 1990-х рр., роль у цьому патріотичних сил. Зазначається, що після проголошення незалежності України на Черкащині набули незворотного характеру процеси формування національної свідомості та оновлення духовного життя. Зусилля спрямовувалися на утвердження нових, заснованих на економічному інтересі і діловій ініціативі форм господарювання. Будуючи нову Україну і виступаючи проти корупції та на підтримку євроінтеграції, Черкащина пройшла дві Революції – Помаранчеву і Гідності. Показується мужність і героїзм черкащан, які захищають свободу і незалежність України у російсько-українській війні у лавах Збройних сил України. Черкащани живуть і працюють з непохитною вірою у перемогу над і роблять для цього усе можливе.

The article reveals the economic and socio-political prerequisites and rationale for the feasibility of the formation of the Cherkasy region in 1954. A short historical tour of the administrativeterritorial organization of the territory included in the newly formed region is made. Its general characteristics at that time are given and the features of economic and socio-cultural development are analyzed. Both positive changes and negative phenomena generated by the commandadministrative system are noted. The life of the region in the conditions of the process of democratization of social life in the second half of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s is highlighted, as well as the role of patriotic forces in this. It is noted that after the declaration of independence of Ukraine in Cherkasy Oblast, the processes of formation of national consciousness and renewal of spiritual life became irreversible. Efforts were directed to the approval of new forms of management based on economic interest and business initiative. While building a new Ukraine and speaking out against corruption and in support of European integration, Cherkasy underwent two revolutions – the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity. Courage and heroism of Cherkasy residents who defend the freedom and independence of Ukraine in the Russian-Ukrainian war in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are shown. Cherkasy residents live and work with an unshakable belief in victory over and do everything possible for this.
