Епітет білий у текстах українських народних пісень

Abstract

Стаття присвячена розгляду семантики й образних можливостей епітета білий у текстах українських народних пісень. З’ясовано, що він поєднується з назвами частин тіла людини, предметів одягу та побуту, явищ природи, виробів, реалізуючи основні значення: ‘який має колі р молока, снігу’, ‘світлий’, ‘ясний’, ‘чистий’. Семантична структура художнього означення розширюється за рахунок сем ‘гарний’, ‘особливий’, ‘винятковий’. Він набуває нових компонентів змісту у складі фразеологічних одиниць, інших образотворчих засобів. Епітет виступає знаком норми у фольклорній картині світу.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the semantics and figurative potentials of the epithet білий (bilyi) in the texts of Ukrainian folk songs. It was found out that the epithet combines with the names of the body parts, household and cloths items, natural phenomena, products and realizes such main meanings as: «the one that has a colour of milk, snow», «light», «pure, clean». Its semantic structure is broadened by the semes «nice», «special», and «extraordinary». It obtains new features of meaning in the structure of idioms and other figurative means. The epithet also functions as a sign of a norm in the folkloric world view.
