Інститут суспільних наук АН УРСР – рушій національних проєктів з локальної та регіональної історії часів «відлиги»

Abstract

Метою роботи є дослідження та систематизація даних щодо внеску вчених Інституту суспільних наук у Львові у розроблення проєктів з локальної та регіональної історії в період хрущовської «відлиги», зокрема в запуск унікального видавничо-енциклопедичного проєкту з регіональної та локальної історії України, а саме багатотомника «Історія міст і сіл Української РСР». Ідея надзвичайної важливості сталого проведення регіональних досліджень в Україні і вивчення цього питання в контексті засадничого принципу унітарності держави є актуальною особливо під час російсько-української війни, що ведеться. Наукова новизна дослідження полягає у введенні в науковий обіг і інтерпретація джерел Архіву Інституту українознавства ім. І. Крип’якевича НАН України (колишнього Інституту суспільних наук АН УРСР) у Львові. Дослідження базується на засадах історизму та наукової об’єктивності, тобто зважаючи на жорсткі рамки офіційної радянської історіографії, зокрема кінця 1950-х – початку 1960-х рр. Було використано як загальнонаукові методи індукції та дедукції, аналізу і синтезу, так і історико-критичний, історико-системний, порівняльного аналізу, логічний, біографічний, хронологічний. Висновки. У статті авторка заповнює білі плями дискурсу стосовно розробників та промоутерів методологічних засад і структури енциклопедичного проєкту «Історії міст і сіл Української СРСР» на прикладі реалізації «Історико-географічного словника Львівської області» як предтечі тому «Львівська область» (1968) тощо. Спираючись на джерельну базу, ми підкреслили провідну роль у цьому процесі співробітників кафедри історії України Інституту суспільних наук АН УРСР у Львові, яку очолював з 1951 по 1958 рр. його директор (1953–1962), доктор історичних наук, академік АН УРСР (1958) Іван Крип’якевич. Під його керівництвом там працювала ціла плеяда в майбутньому іменитих науковців, зокрема С. Білецький, М. Івасюта, В. Грабовецький, Є. Яцкевич, Я. Ісаєвич, В. Огоновський та бібліограф Я. Дашкевич. Львівські історики відіграли значну роль у концептуалізації проєкту, пропонуючи методології та підходи для документування, уніфікації та аналізу отриманих даних. Завдяки вивченню процесів, які відбувалися в окремих населених пунктах Західної України, починаючи з історії сіл як найменшої адміністративно-територіальної одиниці в Україні, вони заклали підвалини для розуміння широких історичних процесів, які формували Українську РСР.

The purpose of the publication is to study and systematize data on the contribution of scholars from the Institute of social sciences in Lviv to the development of projects on local and regional history during the Khrushchev “thaw”, in particular, the launch of a unique publishing and encyclopedic project on the regional and local history of Ukraine, namely the multi-volume work “History of cities and villages of the Ukrainian SSR”. The idea of the extreme importance of conducting regional studies in Ukraine on a regular basis and examining this issue in the context of the fundamental principle of state unity is particularly relevant during the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the introduction into scientific circulation and interpretation of sources from the Archive of the I. Krypiakevych Institute of Ukrainian studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (formerly the Institute of social sciences of the Academy of sciences of the Ukrainian SSR) in Lviv. The research is based on principles of historicism and scientific objectivity, i.e., taking into account the strict framework of official Soviet historiography, in particular, of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Both general scientific methods of induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis, as well as historical-critical, historical-systemic, comparative analysis, logical, biographical, chronological methods were used. Conclusions. In the article, the author fills in the gaps in the discourse on developers and promoters of the methodological foundations and structure of the encyclopedic project «History of cities and villages of the Ukrainian SSR» on the example of the implementation of the «Historical and geographical dictionary of the Lviv region» as a precursor to the volume «Lviv region» (1968), etc. Basing on sources, the author emphasizes the leading role in this process of the staff of the Department of history of Ukraine of the Institute of social sciences of the USSR Academy of sciences in Lviv, headed from 1951 to 1958 by its director (1953–1962), doctor of historical sciences, academician of the Ukrainian SSR Academy of sciences (1958) Ivan Krypiakevych. A lot of such in future outstanding scholars as S. Biletsky, M. Ivasiuta, V. Hrabovetsky, E. Yatskevych, Ya. Isaievych, V. Ohonovskyi, and the institute’s bibliographer Ya. Dashkevych used to work under his supervision there. Lviv’s historians played a significant role in the conceptualization of the project, suggesting methodologies and approaches for documenting, unifying, and analyzing the data. By studying the processes that took place in individual settlements of western Ukraine, starting with the history of villages as the smallest administrative-territorial unit in Ukraine, they laid the foundation for understanding the broader historical processes that shaped the Ukrainian SSR.
