dc.description.abstractThe first director of the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory academician G. A. Shajn actively studied the interstellar medium in the Galaxy and galaxies in the 1950s. He and his followers showed first that the interstellar medium consisting of gas and dust is important component of galaxies. Observational evidence in favour of the star formation from interstellar clouds were obtained.uk_UA
