Глухівський період життя М. Демкова у світлі матеріалів ф. 2052 (М. Сумцов) Центрального державного історичного архіву України

Abstract

У статті опубліковано 8 листів багаторічного викладача Глухівського учительського інституту М. Демкова до знаного харківського вченого, доктора філологічних наук М. Сумцова за 1893–1899 рр., які зберігаються в Центральному державному історичному архіві України (м. Київ). Епістолярна спадщина за невеликим винятком системно не аналізувалася українськими науковцями. З цього листування ми можемо дізнатися про характер відносин між вченими, ставлення М. Демкова до роботи в Глухівському учительському інституті та його бажання захистити магістерську роботу, яка відкривала б шлях до викладання в університеті.The article publishes 8 letters from the teacher of the Hlukhiv Teacher’s Institute M. Demkov to the Kharkiv scientist M. Sumtsov from 1893 to 1899. M. Demkov is a well-known Ukrainian scientist who was one of the first in the Russian Empire to begin studying the history of pedagogical thought of the Kievan Rus’ era and later times. The scientist wrote his first works on the history of pedagogy in Hlukhiv in the 1890s. M. Demkov published his works in pedagogical publications of Kharkiv University. M. Demkov met M. Sumtsov as a result of this scientific work. Correspondence of M. Demkov to M. Sumtsov is stored in the funds of the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Kyiv. Correspondence was not studied by Ukrainian scientists in the Soviet and post-Soviet era. The correspondence makes it possible to study M. Demkov’s attitude to work at the Hlukhiv Teachers’ Institute and his desire to defend his master’s thesis, which would open the way to teaching at the university.
