Олійний стінопис (перша чверть ХІХ ст.) Cпасо-Преображенського собору в Чернігові в історико-краєзнавчій літературі дорадянського періоду (ХІХ ст. – 1917 р.)

Abstract

Стаття присвячена історії досліджень стінопису (перша чверть ХІХ ст.) Спасо-Преображенського собору в Чернігові. Розглядаються студії історичного та краєзнавчого характеру, здійснені у ХІХ ст. і в дорадянський період ХХ ст.Статья посвящена истории исследований настенной живописи (первая четверть ХІХ в.) Спасо-Преображенского собора (ХI в.) в Чернигове. Рассматриваются и анализируются исследования исторического и краеведческого характера, проведенные в ХІХ в. и в досоветский период ХХ в.The article is devoted to the research of the Chernihiv Cathedral of the Saviour and Transfiguration or Spasky Cathedral (XI c.) wall painting history . The paintings were created in the first quarter of the nineteenth century, they are the important part of the modern temple decorations. The researchers of the second half of the nineteenth century and pre-Soviet period of the twentieth century described Spasky Cathedral as the monument of ancient architecture, as the main tomb of Chernihiv princely dynasty, as the main spiritual center. The attention was drawn to the destruction and reconstruction that the church has undergone during its existence. Some studies have described the iconostasis of the XVIII century. Many researchers have only mentioned the paintings of the nineteenth century but didn’t realize their general idea accurately . Only few studies paid attention to this important part of the ancient cathedral interior decoration. The author of the article has tried to understand the causes of the situation and yas come to certain conclusions.
